"Most men love giving oral sex as it removes pressure for them to perform with their penises," Dr Kerner says. "But many women have hang-ups about how they taste or smell. Under pressure

Dr Kerner believes it takes less time to climax through oral sex as it's often combined with manual stimulation. "It's more like masturbating than sex," he says. However, Dr Kurimbokus says, "Men last longer during oral sex as there's no pressure to perform."

Tongue technique

Don't worry if you don't think his tongue is er, big enough. "Good oral sex is more dependent on technique than the size of his tongue," says Tracey Cox sex expert and writer who has a collection of sex toys, Tracey Cox Supersex, at lovehoney.co.uk. "The greater area his tongue can stimulate, the more sensation you'll have. So long as he keeps his tongue flat and relaxed rather than tensed and using only the tip, you'll be at pleasure central."

Lap it up

Dr Pam Spurr, sex and love expert, and author of Sinful Sex: The Uninhibited Guide to Erotic Pleasure, says that for the best oral pleasure, ask him to "Use a lapping technique, rather than a stiff, poking one."

Lie back and reflex

To try and ‘deep throat', Tracey Cox suggests "lie on your back, with your head hanging off the edge of the bed. Get your man to either stand or knee by the side of the bed. Then put your hands against his thighs to control the depth."

Power shower

Dr Spurr find that the two culprits likely to put a girl off giving oral are that she's had a bad experience with a man who's ‘hygenically challenged' or she doesn't know what to do. "If it's the first have a shower together and then tumble into bed and give it a whirl," she suggests. If the issue is technique, ask him how he'd like to be pleasured.
